The AES Student Project Expo invites students to showcase innovative technical projects and solutions through poster presentations and hardware demonstrations, emphasizing practical implementations rather than academic papers. This exhibition focuses on real-world engineering achievements, featuring written and oral feedback from a Jury of industry experts during the Expo, with recognition awarded for outstanding technical merit.
Authors may submit proposals of various types including:
– Software
– Hardware
– Integrations
– Artistic use of technology, etc.
For Student Project Expo, authors are asked to submit an Abstract of 250-word and an Extended Summary of 300-750 words to indicate their desire to present a technical project in a form of a poster presentation by April 18, 2025. Submissions will be peer-reviewed based on merit and interest to the AES community. Submissions should focus on technical and scientific value, avoiding overtly commercial content. Authors may submit proposals spanning various domains, including software implementations, hardware designs, system integrations, artistic applications of technology, and other technical innovations. Topics can be wide-ranging, encompassing experimental work, application-driven solutions, and early-stage research. Authors will be notified of acceptance by April 25, 2025.
If your proposal is accepted, a manuscript containing detailed documentation of the project must be provided; the final manuscript must be uploaded by May 9, 2025 using one of the templates provided below (recommended length of up to 4 pages for the final manuscript). Also, Authors are required to upload the final manuscript as a downloadable PDF file, with a QR-code leading to the manuscript. The QR-code should be presented alongside the poster at the Expo.

Papers may be submitted by a single author or a group of authors. For each paper, a single “presenting author” is designated on the project submission form – usually the person who will present the project at the Convention. The presenting author for each project must be an active AES Student Member and will be required to acquire the Student All Access Badge for the Convention. This badge is required for all presenting authors. No additional registration fee will be required.
Presenting Authors, please wait for instructions that will be sent out with the acceptance information.
