We are delighted to invite participants of the AES Europe 2026 to the Opening Reception on September 28, an evening of welcome drinks, light snacks, music, and informal networking in the heart of Copenhagen.
The reception will offer conference participants an opportunity to meet colleagues, reconnect with friends, and begin the convention in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere while enjoying refreshments and Danish hospitality.
The evening will feature a special musical performance by Tonika, a young vocal ensemble formed by four singers aged 16–18, who met through DR Pigekoret. Alongside their studies at gymnasium, they share a passion for exploring music beyond traditional choral settings through their own arrangements and artistic collaborations. Their performance will bring a fresh and contemporary Scandinavian vocal sound to the opening evening of the convention.
Guests will also be invited to join in a traditional fællessang — a communal singing experience that is deeply rooted in Danish cultural life — offering an opportunity to share music together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The reception will be followed by the launch of the book Immersive Sound Volume II: The Design and Practice of Binaural and Multi-Channel Experiences, edited by Agnieszka Roginska and Paul Geluso.
Published as part of the Audio Engineering Society book series by Routledge, the volume explores the history, theory, and creative practice of immersive and spatial audio across music, production, film, installations, theatre, and emerging media.
